Many students are familiar with the popular protect you willie shirts from S.H.A.P.E. For those who have thought of purchasing the shirt, you may want to act fast because these shirts are no longer being printed.

Although these shirts have been around for a while, many Alumni have found the printing of the university logo on these shirts offensive.

"I received several phone calls that asked us to remove the university

logo on the protect your willie shirts. They may do a shirt that states

protect your willie." Said Tammie Breymeyer, Director of Licensing.

S.H.A.P.E is no longer allowed to continue printing these shirts with

the university logo for fundraising. The remaining inventory is allowed

to be sold Carol Kennedy, director of health promotion said.

The main purpose the shirts served was to pay for the organizations

annual trip to a peer educator conference.

"The shirts have been around for at least 5 years." Annisa Shockey,

senior in biology and president of S.H.A.P.E said. These shirts are

now being banned because of the new basketball shirts being designed by

shape .

"I guess they got irritated with us doing those kinds of shirts and they

have had complaints, mostly from Alumni about that shirt." Shockey

said.

New Basketball shirts by S.H.A.P.E are designed to say "Don't be Forward

with your willie, guard it." This is being allowed as long as the

shirts do not have anything that could associate them with the

university Shockey said.

The organization is still wearing their protect your willie shirts as an

organization. "It's a great campaign. It's just something we didn't want

the logo to seem as if we were endorsing intercourse." Breymeyer said.
