A K-State football player was stabbed and two other people were injured during a confrontation in the early morning hours Sunday, according to Riley County Police Department reports.
RCPD Lt. Kurt Moldrup said senior running back James Johnson allegedly was stabbed five times by Aaron Wallace, 26, of Kansas City, Kan., during a confrontation that began at a bar and continued at an after-party at 1752 Cassell Road. After the stabbing, a group of people at the house allegedly beat Wallace until he was unconscious, according to RCPD reports.
Resident of the house, Christopher Patterson, 22, also was injured during the incident. He was cut on the hand while trying to break up the fight.
Johnson and Wallace both were treated at Mercy Regional Health Center for their injuries, according to RCPD reports. Johnson was treated for stab wounds to his right side, the center of his lower back and to his right forearm as well as for two wounds under his left arm.
Moldrup said the incident is still under investigation, and no arrests have been made.
