Kansas State University Campus Phone Book
The Kansas State University Campus Phone book includes telephone and e-mail listings for students, faculty, staff, academic and administrative departments, campus offices and extracurricular contacts. The book is available in Kedzie 103, in the campus Office Supplies store in the Union, and by e-mail.
The student directory was first published during the 1908-09 academic year when K-State was known as Kansas State Agricultural college. The title on the cover read "Students' Directory: K.S.A.C.," but the inside cover had the complete title: "First Annual Directory of the Kansas State Agricultural College: 1908-09." It measured five inches by seven inches and contained 48 pages.
About half of the book listed students' local addresses and their hometowns, in separate lists for men and women. Other sections included the faculty and the Board of Regents. Advertising filled the other half of the book, which was printed by E. M. Amos Printery in Manhattan.
Today the directory is known as the campus phone book and averages about 380 pages. It's 8.25 inches wide and 10 inches long, and includes maps of the campus and city, contact information for virtually everyone and every office on campus, the Student Life Handbook, and of course e-mail addresses and phone numbers for students, faculty and staff. The directory is printed in Manhattan by Ag Press.
