We're Moving

This thing is a pain to update, and since over Spring Break we're sort of on our own in terms of publishing coverage of the Wildcats in the tournament, look for frequent updates here.

Memorable little moments while beating Missouri

By ADunkak 10. Did anyone else think it was one of the coolest things ever to see the "Can you hear me now? Good!" guy on the court at Bramlage? I guess that's just one of the perks that comes with having a team that is No. 5 in the country. 9. What a nice little advertisement for senior day by Chris Merriewether and Luis Colon. Having Lou speak in Spanish to start it off was a great way to get everyone's attention, and it was funny to see the two of them "act." 8. Coach Martin on the sideline is a sight to behold. You can't say he doesn't put absolutely every ounce of passion in that big, intimidating frame of his into supporting his guys. 7. Blocks look really, really awesome in slow motion. Just saying. 6. You have to love the zillions of paper airplanes...Free throw shooting must improve

By ADunkak 38 of 54. That is 70.4 percent. If you are taking a test, that is a passing grade, but it’s not very good. If you are in business and you make 70 percent of quota, you are in a world of hurt. For the K-State men’s basketball team, think of non-conference play as a test and conference play as the business world. The Wildcats have been able to compensate for their inconsistent free throw shooting so far, but 7 out of 10 free throws will not cut it in the Big 12, which has the second-highest RPI in the country, and especially not against teams like Texas and Kansas, whom K-State plays Monday and Jan. 30, respectively. To have opportunities for 54 uncontested baskets is absurd, amazing… whatever adjective you want to use, go ahead and...Wildcats beat down A&M Aggies

Posted by ADunkak Coach Frank Martin said those who do not rebound are either selfish or lazy. On this occasion, K-State players did not fall into that category, and K-State won 88-65. On the way to a 45-33 K-State lead at the end of the first half, Clemente had 20 points and four assists. The other major contributor for points in the opening half was sophomore Jamar Samuels, who scored 12. The Aggies, on the other hand, did not have anyone score in double figures before the halfway mark. The fast pace of the game definitely favored the Wildcats, who outrebounded the Aggies 23-17 and had 13 fast break points. Texas A&M had none. K-State also shot 70 percent from the foul line in the half. Senior center Luis Colon, who has played in seven...K-State vs. Texas A&M - Day After

Posted by GGuggisberg In the first 12 minutes, Clemente had five three-pointers and 17 total points. Martin said at the postgame interview that Clemente had such a hot start because he didn’t like the feeling of losing to Missouri. At halftime, Clemente had 20 points, but shot 7-16 from the field. He would finish with 24 points. Free throws bogged the game down, especially in the second half. At halftime, the Aggies’ free-throw percentage was especially low, sitting at 44 percent (7-16). This is one of the rare instances where the Wildcats are actually better free throw shooters than their opponent. The Aggies did pick things up in the second half, finishing 23-39 for a modest, but improved nonetheless 59 percent. The Wildcats really...
