The Wildcats might have extra incentive to come home with a win. Coach Suzie Fritz is just one win shy of breaking the school’s all-time wins record. Fritz earned her 168th career victory against Oklahoma on Nov. 5.

Suzie Fritz now stands alone atop the all-time wins category in K-State history.

Fritz, now in her eighth season as the Wildcat volleyball head coach, passed Scott Nelson with her 169th career victory as No. 14 K-State (22-5, 12-4 Big 12 Conference) upended the Colorado Buffaloes (12-12, 6-9 Big 12) Wednesday night in Boulder, Colo. After losing the first game 23-25, the Wildcats won the next three by scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 27-25 to take the match.

Four K-State scorers tallied double digit kills in the contest. Senior outside hitter Rita Liliom led with 18, while junior middle blocker was also effective with 17. Outside hitter Nataly Korobkova and middle blocker Megan Farr, both seniors, added 15 and 12 kills, respectively. The win improves K-State's all-time record against Colorado to 20-25, including a 16-10 mark since the inception of the Big 12.

The Wildcats will take on the No. 4 Texas Longhorns Saturday in Ahearn Field House. Part of K-State's Wildcat Weekend, the match is set to begin at 7 p.m. following the Wildcats' home football game against Nebraska.
