    RCPD receives report of vehicle accident on Kimball and Meadowlark     The Riley County Police Department received a report of an injury accident  at the intersection of Kimball Avenue and Meadowlark Road on Feb. 3 at about 11:57 a.m. After arriving at the scene, emergency responders found 81-year-old Joan Grondahl trapped in her blue 2002 Pontiac Montana van.

    SUNDAY Chip Barry Adolph, of the 3100 block of Swamp Angel Road, was booked for driving with a canceled, suspended or revoked license; driving a vehicle without interlock; and possession of any drug substance. Bond was set at $6,000. Earnest Jacob Black, of the 700 block of Allen Road, was booked for furnishing alcohol to a minor.

    Broadway musical draws standing ovation, awards audience with 10- minute-long encore performance

     Flashing neon lights, tall white platform boots and spandex of all shades; this was the spectacle that hundreds of people came to see Monday night in McCain Auditorium. The Broadway musical "Mamma Mia!" sold out as the cast stopped in Manhattan to perform the songs of Swedish pop group ABBA.

    Garrett Love, Republican state senator for the 38th District in Kansas and the youngest senator in the state, spoke at the KSU College Republicans meeting on Monday.     Students must create new 10-character password, update all mobile devices by Feb. 8 or l

    Every semester, the passwords that students and staff use to access the K-State network change. This semester added some layers of complexity, which provide extra security for all network users. One added layer is the need to change the password settings on all electronic devices that are synced with the network.

    City commissioners will vote to approve the final development plans for the future downtown entertainment district tonight. The Manhattan City Commission will vote on approving the first reading of an ordinance regarding enhanced enforcement of overcrowding violations.

    Tens of thousands of people went to the streets on Saturday in Moscow, Russia, demanding fairness in the presidential elections that are scheduled for March 4. A dozen people in Kansas City, Mo., joined 30 other cities all over the world to support protesters in Russia.

    The K-State Student Union was the site of a laser tag arena on Friday night, as the Union Program Council hosted an after-hours event that allowed students to play a friendly game of laser tag. Walking into the Union, students could hear music and see a long line of students waiting to play.

  • Pre-law club holds mock trial

    Forty people gathered at the Riley County Courthouse in downtown Manhattan on Saturday morning as the K-State Mock Trial team staged its first-ever public exhibition. Thirteen team members from the Pre-Law club split into two groups and argued the fictional case of Danny Dawson, a young man charged with murder and driving while intoxicated in the death of a young woman.
