RCPD arrests 9 on prostitution-related charges

The Riley County Police Department has been investigating a prostitution sting in Manhattan and the Riley county area the past couple of weeks, according to an RCPD news release. The undercover investigation led to a total of nine arrests.

Siobhan Edmonds, a 19-year-old Junction City native was charged with prostitution, and bond was set at $500. Douglas Frank, 36, also from Junction City, was charged with patronizing a prostitute. A $500 bond was set.

Manhattan residents involved include Noe Lara, Roderick Harrner and Joel Hardy. Lara, 21, and Harrner, 21, were charged with patronizing a prostitute, and both bonds were set at $500. Hardy, 33, was also charged with patronizing a prostitute. Bond was set at $500.

Trisha Nungesser and Heidi Koehn, residents of Wichita, were arrested and confined in Pottawatomie County Jail. Nungesser, 22, and Koehn, 28, were both charged with promoting prostitution and possession of a hallucinogenic drug. Fort Riley resident Jermaine Twitty, 38, was charged with patronizing a prostitute and a $500 bond was set.

Marrissa Wright, 20, listed as homeless, was charged with prostitution and confined in the Pottawatomie County Jail.

I am 43 and living in the dorms. I am from Kentucky and I live on Moore 8. I love it up there. After perusing through some of the pictures on the doors of the girls on our hall, I have been steadily hitting on them one by one. I'm planning to get it in real soon, no means yes, right?!

Who cares how old you are and live in the dorms?

I forgot we were that elitist about it. It's cheap, easy, on campus. Hell, I'd live there too if I were 33 and still in college.

WOW. creepy, anonymous joel. the fact is that young girls aren't safe in a dorm where men in their thirties stick around just to have sex with them, and they certainly aren't safe in a dorm environment where men believe having sex with a 20-year-old homeless prostitute is the same as having sex with a 20-year-old college student. wait, though, my feelings could be completely unjustified - this RA might have patronized the 19-year-old who wasn't homeless. maybe he wasn't taking advantage of these women at all! it's not like they have families to support or anything - I'm sure they just love being prostitutes! he probably treats women just right. any thoughts, anonymous joel?

Joel here... so what if I chase some freshman tail. ITS LEGAL!!! So you know what guys and girls, I'm going to keep it up because I like living here. Having a dining hall is really convenient, and I have all the amenities I need. Also, having a chance to claim the sweet embrace of some KSU freshman girls is a plus! I don't get turned down that often... I offer experience.

Way to take care of the "least of these" (Matt 25:45), oh brothers and sisters. Thanks, cops, for punishing somebody who has got nothing. I'm sure enforcing our childish and demeaning anti-sex laws will help Wright out.

All the guys who live in the dorms are pathetic, that's why the girls love me so much. I am a rare oasis in the middle of a nerdy dessert. Im happy. The girls are happy. The only one who isn't happy is you. Maybe you spend a little less time judging me, and a little more time not being a creepy dorm kid.

If you are 35 and hooking up with 18 year old girls you have issues. Never mind the fact that you are living in a dorm. Flat out pathetic. Call it what you want, and I am sure you have 18 year old boys telling you, you are the man, but face reality, you are living a sad sad life. Nothing wrong with starting college at that age,but living in the dorms is pathetic. FYI, they may be technically legal at that age, but you are still a pedophile.

Is there honestly a 30+ year old living in college dorms? I don't care if you are just getting started in college, you have no business in a dorm. This coming from a 33 year old alum.

Joel Hardy is 33 and lives in West Hall. He has always been a creeper to freshmen girls in the dorms, and has actually been told to back off of girls he became obsessed with. As far as I know, he hasn't been able to get a date in three years of living in the dorms, which is why he probably went to a prostitute. I feel bad for the prostitute. People over 30 shouldn't live in the dorms, especially creepy dudes who take a bunch of mental drugs. I wonder how parents will feel when they know that their daughters have had to be around that guy.
