A local woman was arrested Friday and charged with second degree murder after a man was found dead, according to a news release from the Riley County Police Department.

Martha Potter, 63, of 1840 Plymouth Road, was arrested after RCPD received a 911 call at 7:19 p.m. about a man who was shot at the same residence, according to the release.

The man, Robert Potter, 70, also of 1840 Plymouth Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene after police officers and emergency personnel responded to the call, according to the release.

The suspect was confined at the Riley County Jail and bond was set at $150,000, according to the release. The case was still under investigation.
