K-State men's golf finishes in top five at tournament

The K-State men's golf team battled back in the final round of the Pacific Invitational Wednesday to finish fifth.

The Wildcats showed a 4-under-par 280 on the final day to move up three spots from eighth to fifth.

UC Davis won the tournament after outlasting Brigham Young and Oregon in the final round. In fourth was Fresno State, followed by the Wildcats.

The team was led by senior Mitchell Gregson, who shot a 5-under-par 66 in the final round to finish in fourth place with a three-round total of 8-under-par. Senior Joe Ida finished the tournament tied for 13th place with a 3-under-par final round.

This tournament is the last for the team until the spring portion of the schedule, which starts March 8-9 with the Fresno State Classic in Fresno, Calif.
