Tigers down Wildcats in back-and-forth game

Despite a game-high 21 points from junior guard Jacob Pullen, the No. 10 Wildcats fell to Missouri in their conference opener Saturday, 74-68.
 
Pullen hit a three-pointer in the final minute to tie the game at 66, but Missouri's Zaire Taylor answered with a three of his own to give the Tigers a three-point lead. Junior Dominique Sutton had a put-back layup to close within 69-68, but the Wildcats would get no closer. Turnovers in the final minute and good free-throw shooting for Mizzou closed out the win.
 
This is the 30th straight win for the Tigers at home, which is the second-longest streak in the nation behind Kansas' 51.
 
Also in double figures for the Wildcats (13-2, 0-1 Big 12) were senior point guard Denis Clemente with 16 and junior forward Jamar Samuels with 10. Leading the way for Mizzou (13-3, 1-0) was Taylor and Marcus Denmon, who each scored 14.
 
Up next for the Wildcats is the conference home opener against Texas A&M (11-3) on Tuesday.

You should play the lottery dumba** if you're so good at predicting the future. I'm not saying it was a great performance, but it could have just as easily gone our way. Missouri is a good team, and hard to beat at home. Go Cats! Go Coach Martin!

Don't get your hopes up for a top ten team for long. The lack of an inside game Saturday has been exposed. The Cats will lose most of their road games this year. Look for 9 B12 losses and another snub on the tourney. Unless an inside game develops then it will be a frustrating season. When the outside shots dry up you have got to go inside. Very disappointed in the performance Saturday. The big 12 looks pretty even this year with 10 teams at 10 wins at the start of league play. It is going to be tough, Expect Texas and KU to dominate again. Makes me want to puke. Come on Martin, get your head out of your a$$. Puff cake time is over, this is where you earn your check!
