Aggieville store offers nostalgia, new cafe

In 1900, Aggieville was a muddy and vacant lot students were forced to trudge through to get to the main shopping district on Poyntz Street. By 1913, things were turning around, and people began to build stores and restaurants on Moro Street, creating what would become Manhattan's beloved Aggieville, according to Riley County Museum archives. Fraternity camps out for homeless awareness

Members of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity danced to music to stay warm Wednesday night into Thursday morning. While most K-Staters slept comfortably in their beds, these fraternity members slept outside in a cardboard shelter. For 11 years, the fraternity has been participating in a program designed to raise awareness about the homeless. Full story

Van driver suspected of harassing kids

A man driving a blue van has been suspiciously approaching children in Manhattan throughout the last three weeks, according to a news release from RCPD. Three incidents have been reported from Nov. 2 to Nov. 14, and in each instance the suspect drove a dark blue van with a black horizontal stripe along the bottom side of the vehicle, according to the release. Alcohol, drug sanctioning focuses on education

"We're all human; we all make mistakes, but somebody has to be held responsible," said Adam Tank, senior in microbiology and Student Governing Association's attorney general. How people are held responsible for drug or alcohol-related infractions varies depending on previous infractions, gravity of the violation and extenuating circumstances. Full story

Longtime K-State fan finds success as Wildcat punter

Being a K-State fan in Oklahoma is less than conventional. In fact, it could even be considered unadvisable. Nevertheless, that was the case for freshman punter Ryan Doerr when he lived in Boomer Sooner territory as a kid. "Me and my buddy were K-State fans growing up," Doerr said. Full story

Final game will decide Wildcats’ postseason fate

The Wildcats' season is in question after getting walloped by Missouri last week. To make the defeat even worse, it was the first time this season the Wildcats failed to score a touchdown. The Tigers' offense was led by Blaine Gabbert and Danario Alexander, who caught 10 passes for 200 yards and three touchdowns. Full story

Cats’ season on the line in Lincoln

The K-State Wildcats will play for both bowl eligibility and a Big 12 North division title when they take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Lincoln, Neb., Saturday.
