If K-State coach Ron Prince wanted to use Big 12 Conference play as a gauge to see how good his team was, he certainly got a vivid picture of reality as the Wildcats were embarrassed on their home field by No. 7 Texas Tech, 58-28.

The Red Raiders were led by quarterback Graham Harrell, who passed for 454 yards and six touchdowns. Wide receiver Michael Crabtree led all receivers with nine receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns.

K-State struggled on offense all day, gaining only 296 yards of total offense. Josh Freeman had his worst game of the season, completing only 13 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown. The Wildcats travel to Texas A&M next Saturday, and kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m.
