A man driving a truck hit two trick-or-treaters Friday evening, according to a Riley County Police Department report.
Bryon Gatewood, the driver of a Nissan Frontier, hit Charice Drake, 13, and his younger brother Cameron, 11, as they crossed at the intersection of Kimball Avenue and Candlewood Drive.
According to the report, Gatewood stopped to let trick-or-treaters pass but started to move before the brothers were finished crossing.
Police do not believe alcohol to be a factor in the accident, said RCPD Lt. Kurt Moldrup.
Charice was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center with a broken collarbone while his brother was treated by EMS for minor cuts and scrapes.
Gatewood was issued a citation for failure to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk, according to the report.
