Aggravated battery, prescription drug theft reported

A verbal altercation led to aggravated battery and theft charges being filed in Manhattan, according to a Riley County Police Department report. The victim was allegedly choked by her assailant after an argument. He then allegedly proceeded to take Hydromorphone, Percocet and Diloted pills from the residence.

The incident occurred at 780 Allen Road around 6 p.m. Monday and the alleged attacker was known to the victim.

Car accident sends one to the hospital

Ashley Myskiw, 20, of Manhattan, was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center for neck pain Monday after a car accident. A 2007 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Myskiw was stopped in heavy traffic when it was allegedly struck from behind by a 2006 Nissan driven by Shemonia Maciel, 29, of Fort Riley.

Mini bike reported stolen

A Toyota 150cc mini bike valued at $1,300 was taken from 300 10th Street in Ogden, Kan., said RCPD Lt. Kurt Moldrup. Nicole Ashleigh reported the theft of her mini bike occurred between Thursday and Friday.
