Ben Folds, known for his punk-rock piano playing and witty lyrics laced with irony, will perform tonight in Bramlage Coliseum at 7:30.
Indie band Jukebox the Ghost will open the show, along with Mosaic Whispers, an a capella choir from the University of Washington at St. Louis.
Tickets are still available by calling 785-532-7606 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or going to www.k-statesports.com. They can also be purchased at the doors, which will open at 6:30 p.m.
Student tickets cost $18, $22 or $27, while tickets for non-students are $25, $30 or $35.
The event is sponsored by Union Program Council, which will provide free parking for students with a K-State ID.
Folds, a singer-songwriter who plays the piano, guitar, bass guitar and drums, is best known as the front man for the band, Ben Folds Five, though he went solo in 2000. This tour is to promote his new album “Ben Folds Presents: University A Cappella!” which will be released April 28.
Courtney Hauser, UPC music co-chair and senior in mass communications and psychology, said students are encouraged to go even if they are not familiar with the musicians performing.
“There will be two great openers,” Hauser said. “It will be an amazing night of music and talent.”
