K-State first lady Noel Schulz spent this summer introducing herself to women leaders on campus and has now invited all Wildcat women to introduce themselves in the K-State Student Union Ballroom from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. today.
Schulz’s Women of K-State initiative is open to female undergraduates and administrators; the meetings will offer food and refreshments to women interested in making K-State a welcome destination for women.
Schulz founded and participated in similar initiatives at Michigan Technical College and Mississippi State University.
She said future discussion topics likely will include the recruitment and retention of female students and professional networking, but that the gathering it will be a casual event.
“We’re fortunate to have a lot of great women in different administrative and leadership roles,” Schulz said, “and we are going to take advantage of that by finding a way to communicate among these different groups.”
