No. 10 Nebraska shuts down No. 32 K-State tennis team


No member of the No. 32 K-State tennis team was able to capture a victory on Saturday, as the No. 10 Nebraska Cornhuskers cruised to a 7-0 victory.

For junior Petra Niedermayerova, No. 17 in Division I women’s singles,
Saturday’s match ended her seven game winning streak as she fell to No. 16 senior Mary Weatherholt. Niedermayerova took the first set, but could not hold off Weatherholt as she charged back to win the next two sets.

The Wildcats will open up Big 12 Conference play this weekend as they travel to Oklahoma for a pair of matchups.
On Friday, the No. 32 Wildcats will take on No. 27 Oklahoma State in Stillwater, before traveling to Norman on Sunday to square off with the No. 37 Oklahoma Sooners.
