Wildcats headed for West bracket in NCAA tournament

The only question about the Wildcats’ prospects in the NCAA national tournament was where they would start out. On Sunday, it was announced that K-State will be in the West bracket, and the team’s quest for the national title will begin in Kansas City on Friday.

K-State will play the winner of LaSalle/Boise State, who will play in the first round of the NCAA on Wednesday.

Gonzaga is the No. 1 seed in the West, followed by Ohio State and New Mexico.

Following are the seeds of the other Big 12 Conference teams in the tournament:
KU: No. 1 seed in the South
Oklahoma State: No. 5 in the Midwest
Iowa State: No. 10 seed in the West
Oklahoma: No. 10 in the South
