The K-State women’s golf team traveled to Dallas, Texas for the SMU Invitational over the weekend and finished tied for 10th place after the final round of the tournament was canceled due to lightning. Fellow Big 12 competitor Baylor finished in first. The Bears finished 15-over-par, which was four strokes better than the runner-up LSU Tigers and 29 strokes better than the Wildcats’.
K-State’s bright spot came with junior Olivia Eliasson tying for second place individually. She was 2-over-par, five strokes behind the tournament champion.
Senior Gianna Misenhelter was nine strokes behind Eliasson, and finished tied for 37th. Junior Carly Ragains was 14-over and freshman Katherine G. Coursol was 17-over and both finished outside of the top 50. Sophomore Scotland Preston finished last among the Wildcats at 20-over par.
