The Union Program Council is once again bringing a big name to campus. Comedian and actor Aziz Ansari will perform at Bramlage Coliseum on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Ansari currently plays the role of Tom Haverford on NBC’s television series “Parks and Recreation.” He has also appeared televisions shows such as “Scrubs” and “Human Giant.”

Ansari has also found success on the big screen. He has been featured in films “Ice Age: Continental Drift” as the voice of Squint, and “Get Him to the Greek” as Matty. Ansari is known for playing a slacker-type role in movies.

The 31-year-old began his stand-up comedy career in 2000 when he was a student at New York University.

“I was 18 when I started,” Ansari said, according to his biography on imdb.com. “I was hanging out with some friends and they asked if I had tried stand-up before. I hadn’t, but I thought, ‘What the hell?’ So I went to an open mic night, and I liked it.”

Manhattan is one of Ansari’s stops as part of his comedy tour “Modern Romance.”

K-State students can purchase floor seat tickets for $22. With the show only two days away, there are still tickets available. To purchase tickets, call 1-800-221-CATS, go online at kstatesports.com or visit the Athletics Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum.
