On Thursday, the K-State equestrian team used some last minute heroics to walk away with a win over Texas A&M.; Unfortunately for the Wildcat squad, they were unable to carry that momentum into Friday’s competition. In the semifinal round of the NCEA national championship, the No. 5 ranked Wildcats fell to the No. 4 Auburn Tigers 13-3.

“Today definitely did not go as planned but I am extremely proud of our teams’ effort and energy,” head coach Casie Maxwell said to K-State sports. “We rode well, but just not good enough to compete with Auburn today. Props to Auburn for playing so strong today-they definitely came ready to play.”

Some of the notable Wildcat seniors who rode for the last time for K-State were seniors Rachel Webster and Kelly Bovaird.

The Wildcats ended their season with an 11-6 record.
