Petra Niedermayerova has won a lot of matches during her time at K-State. The senior is the first player in program history to win over 100 singles matches. Despite her decorative career, the Wildcats have struggled this season. However, her last time in front of the home fans was a good one, as the Wildcats defeated their in-state rival, No. 63 Kansas, 6-1. Niedermayerova was honored before the game as the lone senior on the squad.
Prior to Saturday, K-State had lost their previous seven games. With the win, the Wildcats finished the regular season 9-12 and 3-6 in Big 12 play. The Wildcats will now travel to Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday to begin the Big 12 championships.
