Shortly after 1 p.m., a shooting was reported at the Hop and Skip convenience store, near the intersection of Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Kimball Avenue. One person was taken to the hospital in connection with the shooting.
“I can confirm that a shooting has occurred, one victim, and is believed to be an isolated incident,” said Riley County Police Department public information officer Mat Droge, according to KMAN 1350. “There should be no increased danger as a result of this incident, this is not a mass violence type event.”
No more information was released immediately after the shooting, including the identity of the victim. The police are currently looking for a vehicle or vehicles connected to the case.
USD 383 Manhattan-Ogden was in lockdown due to the shooting between 1:20 and 1:40 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Regular activity resumed around 1:40 p.m.
