Man arrested on charges of murder, child abuse

A Manhattan resident was arrested for first-degree murder and abuse of a child, according to a Riley County Police Department press release.

Alexander McConnell, 22, was arrested Monday with bond set at $200,000. As of Tuesday night, McConnell was still being confined. No more information is being given at the request of the Riley County Attorney’s Office, according to the release.

A phone call to the office was not immediately returned.
