On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., K-State head coach Bruce Weber and staff will debut the fundraising event Hoop Scoop for Women at the Basketball Training Facility.
The cost is $50 for attendance and all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society and Coaches vs. Cancer. The deadline to sign up is Friday and spots are limited to the first 100 women.
The event features many incentives, including on-court drills with the men’s basketball coaching staff, a behind-the-scenes look at the program, a meet-and-greet with the coaches and their wives, as well as a special lunch held in the West Stadium Center.
“We wanted to create an opportunity for a segment of our fan base that normally don’t get the chance to get an up-close look at our program,” Weber said. “We have summer camps, including several Father-Son camps that give our male fans this opportunity, so we are hopeful that our female Wildcat fans will come out and enjoy this experience.”
Outside of the clinic activities, participating women can bid on a number of silent auction items. That list includes courtside seats for the Texas Southern game on Dec. 28, Loge Box tickets for the Georgia game and a Weber-signed basketball.
