The No.7-ranked Wildcats travelled to Fort Worth, Texas, where they lost to the No. 6-ranked Texas Christian University Horned Frogs 41-20 in a battle for sole possession of first place in the Big 12 standings and a possible spot in the first ever College Football Playoff come January. Senior wide receiver Tyler Lockett broke the school career receiving yardage record set by his father, Kevin Lockett, who played wide receiver at K-State from 1993-6; he has now accumulated a total of 3,073 career receiving yards.
