K-State splits results in Las Vegas

K-State women’s tennis (6-6) split results this weekend in Las Vegas with a 6-1 loss to UNLV on Friday and a 7-0 win over Colorado State on Saturday.

Against UNLV, the Wildcats dropped the doubles point, 2-1, but were able make it close with a win coming from the duo of sophomore Palma Juhasz and freshman Carolina Costamanga, 6-1.

UNLV executed the team victory with singles wins at the No. 4, 5 and 6 positions. Juhasz secured the lone victory for K-State at No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 victory.

On Saturday, the Wildcats came out with a quick 1-0 lead over Colorado State with help from sophomores Iva Bago and Maria Panaite at No. 2 doubles and Juhasz and Costamanga at No. 1 doubles.

K-State finished off their unblemished victory over the Rams with victories coming from all six players.

K-State will take the next 10 days off as the team prepares to face the Iowa Hawkeyes in Iowa City, Iowa on March 8.
