It was a sweet homecoming for K-State equestrian last Friday. After seven-straight losses, the team rode excellently to an upset 14-5 victory over No. 3-ranked TCU.
“This win is definitely very good for our team,” head coach Casie Maxwell said to K-State sports. “It is a confidence booster and it is good to be home with the entire team. It is hard to be on the road and leave half of them at home. It is great to be back in our home atmosphere and on our own horses. The girls just needed this big boost of confidence.”
K-State pitched a 5-0 shutout in the Equitation on the Fences event to mark the most dominant performance on the day. Senior rider Madison Wayda set the tone with a 70-40 victory in the event.
Up next for the Wildcats is the season finale against the Baylor Bears on Saturday at Timbercreek Stables. The meet is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
