K-State women’s rowing will begin preseason competition in Oklahoma City on Saturday with a training session in the morning and a matchup against Oklahoma in the afternoon.
The Wildcats will look to repeat their success from last year when the team finished second in the Big 12 Conference.
Despite losing 12 seniors from the program’s most successful team, K-State returns All-Big 12 Second Team members junior Madi Haney and senior Meggie Murray. The Wildcats also welcome in sophomore Noelle Dykmann, who has been named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.
“You can see the difference in how we compete, train on a day-to-day basis,” K-State head coach Patrick Sweeney said to K-State Sports. “You can see who is putting in the work to succeed.”
Following their trip to Oklahoma this weekend, K-State will head to Tulsa, Oklahoma to face the Golden Hurricanes from March 21-22 in the season opener.
