K-State drop weekend clash against Hawkeyes

K-State women’s tennis (6-7) dropped their lone weekend match on Sunday to the Iowa Hawkeyes, 4-1, in Iowa City, Iowa.

Iowa had help from their No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to clinch the point and a 1-0 lead. K-State responded with sophomore Palma Juhasz and freshman Carolina Costamagna, who were victorious, 6-3.

The Hawkeyes secured the team win with victories at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles. Juhasz was able to salvage a point for the Wildcats in her 6-3, 0-6, 6-1 victory. She has now won six-straight matches.

K-State will now return home to kick off Big 12 play against TCU on Friday at 1 p.m.
