Forty-one K-State women’s rowers took part in the action this weekend during a two-part practice and scrimmage session against Oklahoma on Saturday on the Oklahoma River.
Head coach Patrick Sweeney said he was pleased to have his team back out on the water.
“It was a worthwhile weekend,” Sweeney said to K-State Sports. “Just getting on the water is a big plus. Even not being on the water for two months, the boats did not look technically that bad. Obviously you don’t have boat speed, the aggressive drive in the boat that comes with mileage in the water since it’s different than rowing in the tanks, but they looked good. The basic technique is good.”
The Wildcats will face their first action on March 21 in Tulsa, Oklahoma against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes.
