The Boys and Girls Club of Manhattan hosted its fundraiser, The Little Apple Duck Dash, at Tuttle Creek Pond on June 13, 2015. The nonprofit raised over $12,500 from the adoptions of rubber ducks, which were originally going to be raced through the pond. Heavy rainfalls, however, resulted in high water levels that created an issue of accessibility. Coordinators adapted and instead hosted a “duck pluck,” where winners were selected at random from a pile of 5,000 rubber rucks.
