Twitter announced that the current CEO, Dick Costolo, will step down on July 1. Costolo’s successor will be Jack Dorsey, former CEO and co-founder of Twitter. Dorsey will remain CEO for a short time while the search for a successor continues.

Shortly after the announcement was tweeted, Snoop Dogg tweeted back saying he was ready to step up as CEO.

The Twitter community joined in Snoop Dogg’s fun, tweeting ideas about the future of Twitter if Snoop Dogg was the CEO.

Snoop Dogg not only created two hashtags for campaign for Twitter CEO but also declared his first order of business: money. While some Twitter users scoffed at the idea, Matt Gray, Twitter employee, supports Snoop Dogg as CEO.

Since the announcement of their new plans and strategies back in November and the the changing of CEO’s Twitter’s stocks have taken a hit. The stocks are down $0.03. With Twitter’s stock plummeting after the announcement of Costolo stepping down, maybe Snoop Dogg as CEO might be the way to go?
