#Hashtag: 50 Cent files for bankruptcy

Curtis James Jackson III, the rapper known as 50 Cent, recently filed bankruptcy. According to the Wall Street Journal, the rapper filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Hartford, Conn. Assets and debts reportedly ranged from $10 to $50 million.

Twitter followers did not waste a minute. Puns and word play on the rapper’s name appeared and circulated quickly.

Some Twitter fans left the name game and focused on the irony of the rapper’s candid photos of money and his tweets about being rich.

The rapper is filing for bankruptcy just days after the Associated Press reported that “a jury ordered the rapper-actor Friday to pay $5 million.” Some fans believe there is a possibility of a scam.
