Presidential open forum at student union today

K-State President Kirk Schulz is holding an open forum with graduate faculty today at 3:30 p.m. in the Big 12 Room inside the Student Union. Schulz will be joined by Provost April Mason, Vice President Cindy Bontrager and Vice President Karen Burg, who had previously announced her resignation from the university effective Jan. 2, 2016. Schulz and his cabinet will answer questions and talk about ongoing issues facing the university.

Two K-State pep rallies being held at Kansas State Fair

K-State is holding two pep rallies at the upcoming Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson, according to K-State Today. The rallies will be held Sunday, Sept. 13 at noon and 5:30 p.m.

The K-State Band, cheer squad and Willie the Wildcat will all take to the Lake Talbott Stage. Pat Bosco, vice president for student life and dean of students, will be there to help lead the event.

Canned food drive tonight at Watermelon Feed

The K-State Collegiate Farm Bureau is holding the Fill a Ford canned food drive today from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. at the College of Agriculture’s Watermelon Feed on the lawn on Weber Hall. In addition to collecting food for the less fortunate, the group will hold drawings for cash and other prizes.
