According to BBC News, it has been reported by Xinhua, China’s state-operated news agency, that China is to end its one-child policy, allowing couples the option to have up to two children.
The one-child policy, which was nationally applied in 1979 to delay population growth, has been estimated to have averted approximately 400 million births.
Twitter users shared their opinions on China’s decision.

China moves from the #onechildpolicy to the #TwoChildPolicy. Great news but it (still) does not end the suffering around this issue

So China replaces #onechildpolicy with #TwoChildPolicy and people celebrate it? The state is still placing punitive restrictions on people.
