Currie joined K-State Athletics as its director in May 2009. Since then, K-State won Big 12 championships in football, men’s basketball and baseball. The athletic department also added $190 million worth of upgraded and new facilities, including the West Stadium Center and Vanier Family Football Complex at Bill Snyder Family Stadium, and the basketball training facility.
