K-State defeated Columbia 81-77 Monday night.

The Wildcats were led in scoring by senior Justin Edwards who had 19 points and freshman forward Dean Wade, who had a career night putting up 17 points in his second game as a Wildcat.

Senior forward Wesley Iwundu and senior center Stephen Hurt also scored in double digits with 16 and 10 respectively.

The Lions cut the K-State lead to three late in the game but a 9-0 run jump started with a three on by Wade gave the Widcats the needed space to pull away from Columbia.
