Fellow K-Staters,
Hope you all had a good week off for Thanksgiving. We know the weather the past few days has been bad, and we hope you all made it back to Manhattan safely. We know you have a busy week ahead, so we’ll keep this one short.
We want to take a second and thank everyone who came out to Kansas City to support the men’s basketball team as they played in the College Basketball Experience Hall of Fame Classic and to Lawrence as the football team beat KU. It was amazing to see so much purple, and we know both teams appreciated the overwhelming support. We’re counting on your support again this weekend against West Virginia, when we’ll be playing for an invitation to a bowl game.
As the semester enters its final stretch, we know it can be stressful and often exhausting. So don’t hesitate to use the resources at both the Office of Student Life and the K-State Counseling Services. K-State has trained professionals who work diligently to provide students the support they need to be successful in their personal and academic lives.
It is no secret that in today’s job market, the experience you get outside the classroom is just as important as the one inside it. We are proud to announce that we will soon be launching the “Earn Your Purple” program. The program will keep records on your every involvement and help you achieve distinction in numerous different categories. With these distinctions, you will be rewarded with a notation on your transcript and cords at graduation, and you will strengthen your ability to tell your collegiate story.
As always, we would love to hear your questions, comments and concerns that will help us enhance your experience at K-State. Feel free to reach us at sga@ksu.edu or on Twitter at @KStateSBP_SBVP.
Thank you and Go Cats,
Andy Hurtig, student body president
Joe Tinker, student body vice president
