Several Olympic hopefuls competed as the K-State track and field team swept the competition at the annual DeLoss Dodds Invitational track and field meet Jan. 22-23, 2016, inside Ahearn Fieldhouse. Senior pentathlete Akela Jones opened the competition with a K-State and Ahearn Fieldhouse record-breaking performance in the pentathlon, accumulating a total of 4,643 points. Former K-State high jumpers Erik Kynard, who won the silver medal at the 2012 Olympics, and Alyx Treasure, represented their home countries of Jordan and Canada, respectively.
