College of Education faculty recognized for excellence
The Kansas Counseling Association recently honored two College of Education faculty members for their excellence in the counseling field.
According to K-State Today, the association recognized the contributions of Judy Hughey, associate professor of special education, and Ken Hughey, department chair and professor of special education, counseling and student affairs.
Judy was named the association’s 2016 Counselor of the Year while Ken received the Kansas Counseling Association’s 2016 Distinguished Service Award.
“Ken and Judy have dedicated their professional lives to helping people, and it is wonderful that they are being recognized at the state level,” Debbie Mercer, dean of the College of Education, said to K-State Today. “They have contributed greatly to the caring culture in the college and their impact is truly remarkable when you consider all of the people they have touched through their scholarship and service.”
Manhattan receives honor as ‘Great American Defense Community’
