
According to News and Communication Services, the K-State Police Department is investigating an apparent suicide that occurred Tuesday morning, following a shooting at Jardine Apartments. The investigation is ongoing and the student’s name is not being released pending notification of family.
Update: 7/5/16 7:30 p.m.
The K-State Police Department has identified the student as Justin Brickey, senior in engineering, in a press release. Campus police responded to a 9:19 a.m. phone call regarding concern for a resident. Upon arrival, officers discovered Brickey, after which he suffered a fatal, self-inflicted gunshot wound.

There will be a gathering at the Frith Community Center at 4:30 p.m. to honor Justin Brickey, according to a tweet by K-State Housing and Dining Services. K-State Counseling Services will be present.
