For the first time since 2013, a K-State cross-country runner won their second Big 12 weekly honor in a season.

Morgan Wedekind was named Big 12 Runner of the Week after finishing fourth in the 2016 Cowboy Jamboree with a time of 18:26:8.

“Morgan continues to race well this season,” head cross country coach Ryun Godfrey said to K-State Sports. “She will be the first to tell you, however, that her best races are yet to come.”

Wedekind finished first in the Augustana Twilight on Sept. 6 which earned the senior her first runner of the week award of the season.

K-State cross country will head to Peoria, Illinois to compete in the Bradley Invitational on Oct. 14.
