Rusty’s in Aggieville to close

“The end of an Aggieville era” was announced “with heavy hearts” in a tweet by Kite’s Bar & Grill on Feb. 9.

The tweet announced that Rusty’s and Rusty’s Outback in Aggieville will close “due to unforeseen events.”

Both Rusty’s and Kite’s Bar and Grill are owned by the same management.

“From this point on, we will be shifting our focus to Kite’s Bar and Grill,” the post said. “(Rusty’s) legacy will live on through vivid memories of joyous experiences and through our staff, which will still be working hard at Kite’s to provide quality entertainment and excellent service.”

In Summer 2016, Varney’s also closed their location in Aggieville after 126 years of business.

Hi, I'm Kaitlyn Alanis, former news editor for the Collegian and a May 2017 graduate in agricultural communications and journalism. I have never tried a hamburger and I hate the taste of coffee, but I love writing stories and sharing what I learn with our readers. By writing for the Collegian, I can now not only sing along when the K-State Band plays "The Band is Hot," but I also know that most agriculture students did not grow up on a farm, how to use an AED to save someone's life and why there is a bust of MLK Jr. outside of Ahearn Field House. Thanks for reading!
