To better serve the student body, we are introducing a new section called Club News. This section is a place for student organizations to share upcoming events and make public announcements.
If you are a member or adviser for any student club at Kansas State, we invite you to participate using our online form at www.kstatecollegian.com/contact/submit-club-news.
Our goal is for the Collegian to better serve as the voice of the students at K-State. By providing another avenue for student organizations to promote events, more students will know and have an opportunity to participate. By lauding the accomplishments of students in those organizations, we celebrate the successes of K-Staters.
We will publish Club News weekly online every Monday with the submissions sent by noon Sunday. Some Club News highlights may be included in the Tuesday Collegian print edition.
Events must be no more than four weeks in advance, and achievements must be no more than four weeks past the date of the award. There is no limit on how many events or achievements may be shared by an organization in one week. Each event or achievement will receive its own paragraph within a list of Club News.
We require the name of the organization and a link to its website, social media page or OrgSync. We also require contact information for the submitter, but the information will only be used if we need to contact you.
If you are sharing an event, include the name, date, location, who can attend and a description of the event.
For achievements and awards, include whether it is an individual or a group, and if it is an individual, please include his or her name, grade and major. Also required is the name of the achievement or award, who presented it, when and a description.
We will edit the information into a paragraph for each individual event and achievement.
If you have questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org, managing editor Danielle Cook at email@example.com or editor-in-chief Jason Tidd at firstname.lastname@example.org, call 785-370-6356 or stop by the Collegian newsroom at Kedzie 116.
