Haircuts for Jillian — Alpha Xi Delta

This is a hair donation event in honor of a member of Alpha Xi Delta who is undergoing treatment for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. On April 19 from 6-7 p.m., 15 members of the sorority who have volunteered to donate at least 8 inches of their hair in Jillian’s honor, will cut and style on the front porch of Alpha Xi Delta’s house, located at 601 Fairchild Terrace. Members of the public are welcome to observe the event.

The Manhappiness Project — Quest Freshman Honorary

On campus next week, The Manhappiness Project, a week-long event, is “meant to spread happiness and excitement around campus” through activities, which are open to K-State and the public.

Sunday (Preparation)

  • Deliver “Why I’m Happy” poster boards to greek houses and residential halls
  • Write motivational notes in preparation for Tuesday
  • Chalk sidewalks


  • Sunday is Easter Sunday
  • Deliver around 8-9 p.m. that evening
  • Meet at SLS at 8 p.m. to write motivational notes, chalk
  • Chalk Bosco Plaza, the Quad and around SLS

Monday (Focused on Family)

  • Thank you postcards to professors, faculty and friends
  • Easter Egg Hunt
  • Put eggs in the Quad
  • Start tabling at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tuesday (Focused on Students)

  • Pay it forward concept
  • Leave motivational messages/notes with stickers on it


  • Start the pay it forward idea at coffeeshop
  • Leadership Studies and Engineering Radina’s
  • Start at 9:30 a.m. (opens at 8 a.m.)
  • Leave $20 at the restaurant if the chain is broken throughout the day
  • Pay it forward at Coldstone
  • Start at 7 to 10:30 p.m.

Wednesday (Focused on Community)

  • Display “Why I’m Happy” papers
  • Take a picture with whiteboard saying why they’re happy
  • Tweet out favorites for our social media presence
  • Tie balloons to stake in the ground down the walkway toward Water’s Hall


  • Display “Why I’m Happy” papers when tabling to take pictures
  • Display four or five of our favorites. There are 50 options.
  • Take pictures at Bosco Plaza from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Ask students to tweet at us
  • We will tweet our favorite pictures of students
  • Balloons will not be floating but they will be tied to a stake
  • A poster visual of a sentence through the walkway

Thursday (Focused on You)

  • Display “Why I’m Happy” papers
  • Puppies and activities
  • Write down what you like about yourself
  • Chain papers together and use a prop for Friday’s pictures


  • Display “Why I’m Happy” papers when playing with puppies/activities
  • Display four or five of our favorites. There are 50 options.
  • Start playing with puppies in the Quad at 11 a.m. and end at 1 p.m.
  • Start doing activities at Bosco Student Plaza at 11 a.m. and end at 1 p.m.
  • Work with the Riley County Humane Society to play with puppies

Friday (Focused on Friends)

  • Photo booth with friends
  • Take a seat, make a friend
  • Explanation: Sit in a ball pit, pick up balls and ask them questions


  • Location: Inside the Union
  • Start the photo booth around 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
