Kaw Valley Rodeo

July 27, 2017, at 8 p.m. July 29, 2017, at 11 p.m. at the Wells Arena in the Riley County Fairgrounds.

The Kaw Valley Rodeo will feature barrel racing, bull riding and calf roping among other events for a three-day rodeo extravaganza over the weekend.

Arts in the Park: BritBeat

July 28, 2017, 8 p.m. 10 p.m. at the Larry Norvell Band Shell in Manhattan City Park.

This week’s installment of the summer Arts in the Park concert series features BritBeat, a Beatles cover band that will be playing songs from every era of the classic British rock band’s history.

Under the Sea Party with Grand Marquis

July 28, 2017, 9 p.m. at Auntie Mae’s Parlor.

A nautical-themed party will accompany live music from Grand Marquis, a Kansas City-based jazz band. Dressing up for the occasion is strongly encouraged. A special drink menu will be provided exclusively for this event, featuring tropical and cruise ship-themed drinks.

Annual Iris Sale

July 29, 2017, 8 a.m. 12 p.m. at the Kansas State University Gardens.

This annual event will provide hundreds of varieties of irises for sale to the general public. Rhizomes will sell for $2 to $7, and all proceeds will benefit the Kansas State University Gardens. The event is sponsored by the Flint Hills Iris Society.

Ahrensburg Youth Symphony Orchestra

July 31, 2017, 7:30 p.m. 10 p.m. at McCain Auditorium.

Recognized as the leading youth orchestra in northern Germany, this 63-member orchestra will perform at McCain Auditorium, as well as interact with students from the Manhattan High School and Junction City High School orchestra programs.
