Simple precautions can keep you safe off campus


According to the Riley County Police Department, there has been an elevated number of vehicle and home break-ins in the Manhattan area in the months of August and September. RCPD is encouraging everyone to lock their cars and front doors to prevent these crimes from happening.

Many students who live off campus use safety apps like the Lifeline Response App and the buddy system to ensure their safety when walking during the day or night. Channel 8 News talked to some students about their concerns with the recent break ins.
