Sgt. Mike Pierce, a correction specialist at Fort Leavenworth, opened up about his recent battle with depression. After struggling to fit in with his unit at Fort Bliss and two disciplinary strikes in the forms of Article Fifteens, Pierce’s mental health began to take a turn for the worse. Pierce’s chain of command noticed the change in his behavior and took action in the form of counseling and a referral to the post mental health facility.
