After a big overtime road win against Kansas over the weekend, poor shooting led to the Kansas State women’s basketball team falling short on the road to Oklahoma, 68-49.

The Wildcats shot 50 percent from the free-throw line on eight attempts. From the floor, the team was 19 for 62, which is good for a lackluster 30.6 percent. The team shot just under 27 percent from behind the arc.

K-State led by a narrow margin of just 12-10 after the first quarter and from there it went downhill. In the second and third quarters combined, the Sooners outscored the Wildcats 41-23.

The Wildcats got dominated on the glass, as the team was out-rebounded 51-35. The team also gave up 14 offensive rebounds.

Junior guard Kayla Goth was the only Wildcat to reach double figures, scoring 10 points. She also led the team with seven assists. Senior forward Kaylee Page had nine points, all of which came from behind the arc. Page also recorded four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

Off the bench, junior forward Kali Jones made an impact in her 20 minutes of play. She only had four points but made her presence on the defensive side, leading the team with 10 rebounds and three blocked shots.

For Oklahoma, senior center Vionise Pierre-Louis was nearly impossible to stop. Pierre-Louis scored 26 points on just 15 shots, and led the way for the Sooners with 13 rebounds. She also recorded a game high 4 blocks.

The 12-10 Wildcats will look to get back to its winning ways, as the team will have a home game on Feb. 3 against Iowa State. K-State beat the Cyclones in Ames earlier in the year, 67-60. The game will tip from Bramlage Coliseum at 7 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN3.
